Honoring a Dear Friend and Colleague

Dr. Laura-Ann Petitto and the BL2 team at Gallaudet University wish to acknowledge in loving and respectful memory our dear friend and colleague, Mr. Roberto Enrico Wirth, who died unexpectedly on Sunday June 5, 2022. Roberto was a renowned and highly acclaimed Hotelier, owner of the beautiful Hassler Hotel at the top of the Spanish Steps in Rome, brilliant visionary and insightful businessman, and a kind and compassionate human being. Dr. Petitto considers her 12-year friendship with Roberto to have been a gift. “I will miss him,” notes Petitto, as will his wonderful children, family, and so many others, including Deaf communities in the USA, Italy, and around the world to which he was so passionately devoted.
This is a lovely tribute to Mr. Roberto Enrico Wirth, and his dedicated advocacy work alongside Dr. Laura-Ann Petitto for Deaf communities in the US, Italy, and globally was truly remarkable.
