Dr. Fabrizio Renzi (IBM Italy Director for Technical, Innovation, and Research) meets with Professor Arcangelo Merla (Universitá Gabriele d’Annunzio-Chieti Pescara Italy) and Professor Laura-Ann Petitto (Gallaudet University) to discuss two important priorities: (1) possible IBM engagements with Gallaudet’s pioneering Creativity Way, and (2) IBM’s interests in supporting the advance of the NSF INSPIRE Language Learning tool, RAVE (Petitto, PI, Gallaudet University, prime)—especially its thermal IR imaging measurements of human emotion (Merla) and its synchronized delivery of language patterns that match infant brain sensitivities to patterns at the heart of human language (Petitto).
